Heirloom Photography In Athens, GA

These siblings came in for an heirloom photography session. Mom chose to do a Signature Session to allow more time for her four kiddos and to get some additional images of the baby in the family. Worked out marvelously.

Heirloom photography in Athens, GA

Outfits for the gals came from an Etsy store and big brother’s outfit is from Target. Great finds that are fitting for an heirloom photography session while coordinating for when everyone is together like in the above image, but also looks great one-on-one.

I hold heirloom photography events each season, but also offer personalized heirloom sessions when you need a bit more time and variety in your images.

Differences in heirloom photography sessions:

Heirloom portrait events

Short 15 minute time slots for an individual child. Siblings can be booked back to back to allow a sibling portrait. The background is a white backdrop.

The signature heirloom session

Lasts up to 90 minutes and can include multiple children and even family pets. You can choose to do the heirloom photography session at your home, outside or at the Yvonne Niemann Photography home studio. You can choose your backdrop as well as a few different sitting options. There are several different backdrops to choose from – white, gray, cream and hand painted muslins in various neutral shades. Sitting options include various stools, chairs, a bench and a settee. If you want other images that are not heirloom portraits, you can do that too during a signature heirloom photography session!

Simplicity heirloom sessions

Last 30 minutes and can be for an individual child who needs more time to warm up or would like to include a family pet or one other child. These sessions can be done at your home, outdoors or the Yvonne Niemann Photography home studio. You can also choose your backdrop as well as a sitting options.

3 Month Milestone Pictures In Studio

Every milestone in a baby’s first year of life is worth documenting! This little girl is part of the Watch Me Grow program. I photographed her mom for her maternity portraits and then I photographed their newborn session at their home in the Fall. Her three month milestone pictures was such a treat. Her mom chose to do the session in studio since that is what we did for the maternity images. We used the same backdrop and even used the stool we used for some of the maternity portraits. Love to bring everything together like that when possible.

The little lady wore a handmade dress for her 3 month milestone pictures. Very fitting for this southern lady. Mom chose the most perfect dress too. The blue and white is such a classic choice.  The delicate pattern and flowy material works wonderfully for motherhood and baby portraits. Very flattering too.

Big sisters and brother joined in on a few images at the end once lil’ sis had enough. Always a delight photographing the siblings during a milestone session.

Wondering when to schedule your maternity photos? I typically recommend planning your session toward the beginning of the third trimester - when your beautiful belly is showing, but you are still comfortable enough to move, explore and enjoy the experience.

This summer maternity session took place along the shoals, where the cool water offered a refreshing escape from the Georgia heat and a beautiful setting for documenting this family before their newest little one arrived.

The third trimester is also the perfect time to reserve your newborn session. I keep my newborn calendar intentionally light and flexible, so whether your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, your family is guaranteed a place on my schedule.

Toddlers do not always understand posing, so sometimes we turn it into a game. For this image, I tucked a little surprise near baby brother, encouraging his big sister to lean in and look closely. The result is a beautifully natural moment that feels connected, timeless and entirely her.
