Spring professional children’s photography taken in Oconee County, GA of a little girl with flowering dogwood treesThere are so many options for beautiful locations for professional children’s photography in the Athens, GA area. This lil’ beauty came over to my outdoor studio in Oconee County for a petite session to take advantage of the blooming dogwood trees! Worked out so wonderfully with this dress from the Yvonne Niemann Photography wardrobe closet. The blossoms on the bodice of the dress mimic the blossoms on the trees. The tulle and delicate beading add to the dreaminess of her portraits. She was a perfect model! Such a fun personality to photograph. Miss E loved to twirl and dance in the dress, which gave nice movement as well as facial expressions to the finished artwork. Her mom and little sister wondered down the trail in the woods to explore, so once we finished up with this Southern beauty’s photos, we decided to go join them. The fun outing resulted in more beautiful images drenched by beautiful light of the sun peeking through the trees. Cannot wait to share some of those! Sometimes unexpected moments during a professional children’s photography session give you golden nuggets of magic.

This is my sweet baby girl. She is obviously not a baby anymore, but rather a beautiful young lady, but she will ALWAYS be MY baby. I am sure all parents can relate.

Lily is why I do what I do. Before I got pregnant, I was a video producer with some crazy hours. When I found out I was expecting, my husband and I looked into childcare options, but weren`t having much luck finding what we needed. My heart was telling me to be with my daughter. I didn`t want to miss out on anything. My plan was to freelance, but the hours honestly weren`t much different, so I decided to stay home with my baby girl.

I had always done photography on the side. Early on, I did photo journalism, but then switched over to doing it as a hobby once I started my career in video. I worked for a photographer for a short time in college who had her studio in her home and always thought that would be perfect for when I had my own family. So, that is exactly what I set my mind to once I made the decision to quit the video world. As a mom, it would allow me to set my own goals, hours and run things the way I wanted.

Owning my own business has been such a blessing! I get to be there for my daughter and family while feeding into my passion for photography. It gives me such freedom and makes my heart sing with every session I do. Love documenting important moments for my clients throughout their journey of life. Such an honor and something that I don`t take lightly.

Thank you Lily for leading me down this path and allowing me to do what I am truly passionate about. Getting pregnant with you was the push I needed to make my dreams a reality.

You know when people say that if you do what you love, you never work a day in your life? I can attest that is very true. It is what I hope for my daughter and all of you!
