This child photography session took place in a beautiful field full of the season’s abundant beauty. This was the first place I stopped at during their location scout and my heart just sang, which told me that it was the PERFECT location for fall photo sessions. Not a lot of trees were boasting their jewel tones of Autumn in the area, but this field was showing off it’s colors and charm wonderfully.
I absolutely adore this lil’ man. I have been photographing him since he was born three and a half years ago for his newborn photography session at his home. Every year I am just amazed with his growth, achievements and blooming personality! He loves adventure and this location was perfect for that. When we arrived, there were deer grazing their evening meal, which was a special treat for this little boy to witness. This field is actually the residence of a family of deer. I happened upon in on a random hike almost 10 years ago and I am happy to see that this is still their home after all these years. Mr. R had fun looking for all the deer and the clues that they leave behind. He had great fun playing games and cuddling with his parents too. Such a sweet family and always an honor to be chosen to document their special bonds and family dynamic.
Mom did a great job picking out their outfits for their fall photography session. She chose shades of tan, ecru and white. Perfect for keeping the focus on the family members connections without distractions. The texture of their sweaters and little details from buttons and accessories gave just enough interest. Their wardrobe is timeless, which is great so that portraiture artwork displayed in the home doesn’t look dated over the years. The coors will also work wonderfully with their home decor. So important to think about where your images will display and your style aesthetic in your home when picking out the color scheme of your outfits for portraits. You really don’t want things to clash.
