Fun Fall family portrait in Athens, GA.

I had the great honor to photograph this beautiful family over the weekend. Such a fun family portrait giving a glimpse into their lives. The eldest son was not in the mood for photos, so we ended up playing a lot of games and I used a lens on my camera that made him not realize that he was getting his picture taken. We were able to get some really cute lifestyle images.

I have been photographing this family since their first son was in mommy’s belly and it has been such a joy watching their family grow and documenting important milestones. Their youngest child is so laid back and just goes with the flow. He doesn’t even seem to mind his brother messing with him or wrestling him to the ground. They are going to have SO much fun growing up together. Mom and dad are so in love with each other and their beautiful sons. You can tell that they truly enjoy being in each other’s company and experiencing all that this lifetime has to offer!

Mom did a great job choosing their wardrobe for their family portrait. They coordinate really nicely together and their surroundings. Luckily, things cooled off enough for them to wear what they did. Two days prior, it was 90 degrees! Not sure how much you can tell from this picture, but if you look closely, you will see that the baby’s undershirt has gray, navy, green and white in it, which pulls together all the colors that are in the rest of the family’s outfits. Great way to coordinate everyone in an effortless looking way without being matchy matchy. Great example of what to wear for a fall family portrait!

I have always been inspired by nature and it will always be something I love to photograph. I think it shows in my work with my portrait sessions too. I love finding locations that have elements of nature I adore. Magical lighting. layers of foliage, pretty flowers, pathways, tunnels of trees, boulders, various water elements and all the little details in between.

Looking forward to Spring and all that it brings. Since moving to Georgia, it is my absolute favorite season. What`s your favorite?

As things are warming up, nature is coming alive. You can see hints of it with grass greening up, tiny buds on trees and certain flowers showing off their beauty already. That also means that cherry blossoms will be flowering in the near future too!

I`ll be keeping an eye on things and when I have a better prediction of when they will be in bloom, I`ll make an announcement. Stay tuned.

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.
