Christmas family portraits at a tree farm is always a classic choice! How fitting is this family’s wardrobe too? The tartan wool skirt, quilted vest, knitted baby sweater and bloomers, and the traditional Southern red Christmas dress is just pure perfection. Mom’s outfit really reminds me of one of Kate Middleton’s Christmas party outfits she wore back in 2018. Great example of what to wear for your Christmas family portraits. These outfits will never go out of style.

I love holding Christmas family portraits at a tree farm. Such a subtle way of announcing Christmas without it being too in your face. Great to keep focus on the subjects versus a bunch of props. We did utilize my vintage snow sleigh for the sibling image to help stabilize the kiddos in a safe and fitting way.

One thing to think about when holding your session at a tree farm are the hours and days. You do not want to schedule your Christmas family portraits at this type of location when the farm is super busy over the weekend when everyone is searching for their perfect tree. Another considerate thing to do is to purchase either a tree, wreath, garland or some other item to support the farm even more. Yes, tree farms do require a fee to photograph on their property, but it is always a nice things to make a purchase too. Great for the business, but also gives you something to take home and relish in the Holiday festivities even more!

Our sweet Bella girl is growing up so beautifully. The last time I introduced her here, she was still such a tiny puppy. Now, at a little over a year old, she is still very much our baby, just a bit bigger. Her "feathers” have come in and her hair has grown beautifully. Bella is the most cuddly, playful, loving dog, and she has completely stolen our hearts. Love her to pieces.

It hardly seems possible that nearly a year has passed since my daughter was preparing for her high school graduation, and now she is finishing her first year of college. Watching her step so gracefully into this new season has been such a gift. I am deeply proud of the way she has stayed true to who she is, found her people and community at GCSU, poured into others as a gymnastics coach, and continues to build a life that reflects her dreams.
