At the beginning of summer, I photographed this beautiful couple for their maternity portrait session in Oconee County. This location was perfect for highlighting the pregnancy glow of this beautiful mom-to-be. It was such a treat photographing these two as they are so sweet and loving towards each other and full of romance. Their excitement and anticipation of meeting their baby boy really showed. I can’t wait to meet the lil’ man tomorrow for their newborn photography session at their home in Athens, GA. In the meantime, enjoy their beautiful pregnancy portraits set to music. I absolutely adore maternity portraits! There is something just so romantic about this time and it really resonates in pictures – especially when both parents-to-be are featured. Can’t you just see the happiness, joy, excitement and love between these two as they wait in anticipation for their first baby to arrive? This mom-to-be just glows! We went to a couple different locations for this couple’s maternity photography session and we finished it up at this country setting near their home in Oconee County. They were completely at ease, which really shows beautifully in their demeanor and through their loving expressions. Such an exciting time and it’s such an honor to capture these moments for this loving couple. Their outfits are a perfect example of what to wear for a country maternity photography session. Beautifully coordinated and fits their surroundings wonderfully. Congrats M and S! Can’t wait to meet your baby girl.

Beautiful Summer Pregnancy Photography in Athens, GA

This morning I photographed this beautiful mom-to-be in Athens, GA at the UGA campus for her summer pregnancy portraits. The University of Georgia is a big part of this couple’s lives and so it was fitting to use it for their backdrop. We headed out around sunset to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and beautiful light. they were troopers for getting up so early, but it was totally worth it so that this glowing lady could be comfortable. The stunning crepe myrtle trees are in full bloom in the south and I when I saw this tree, I knew it would work perfectly for some portraits. The pretty blooms works well with the feminine dress (which is a great example of what to wear for pregnancy portraits) and gives a nod to the baby girl that will be entering the world next month. Can’t wait to meet the little lady in a few weeks!

Wondering when to schedule your maternity photos? I typically recommend planning your session toward the beginning of the third trimester - when your beautiful belly is showing, but you are still comfortable enough to move, explore and enjoy the experience.

This summer maternity session took place along the shoals, where the cool water offered a refreshing escape from the Georgia heat and a beautiful setting for documenting this family before their newest little one arrived.

The third trimester is also the perfect time to reserve your newborn session. I keep my newborn calendar intentionally light and flexible, so whether your baby arrives earlier or later than expected, your family is guaranteed a place on my schedule.

Sibling images are such an important part of a newborn session. They preserve the very beginning of a lifelong relationship—the wonder, curiosity and tenderness of welcoming a new baby into the family.

Toddlers do not always understand posing, so sometimes we turn it into a game. For this image, I tucked a little surprise near baby brother, encouraging his big sister to lean in and look closely. The result is a beautifully natural moment that feels connected, timeless and entirely her.
