Introducing Fern | Netherland Dwarf Bunny

Santa came a little early this year with a very special delivery. Below is Fern, my daughter’s Netherland Dwarf bunny. She had her eye on this four month old boy and convinced us and Santa that he could come home and be a part of the Niemann household. Isn’t he just the cutest?

Pet photography of a Netherland Dwarf rabbit taken in Athens, GA.

My daughter named her new bunny, Fern. She wanted to stick with a flower or plant name to go along with her name and her other furry housemates. We now have a Lily, Rose, Flower and Fern in our home. I personally love that Lily wanted to go with the flower/plant theme and I adore the name she picked. I actually think he looks a bit like Bambi with his coloring and markings. He is still a bit timid, but is warming up to us as he gets used to his new surroundings. We are currently keeping our other bunny, Flower, away from the new comer until they are both fixed. They both got a new two story home and currently Flower is taking up residence upstairs and Fern is living on the bottom level. They bond through the cage and from smelling each other through the floors. Cannot wait for the two to be together full time in the near future.

Is Santa bringing a new pet to your home this year? If so, don’t forget to book your pet photography session in the new year. You can always include your whole family in the portraits if you are also needing updated family photos. I personally never got around to doing my own family’s portraits and have decided to enjoy the season and do New Year’s cards this year. Who doesn’t like receiving special mail in the New Year?! Athens, GA Pet Photography | Baby Holland Lop Bunny

Santa brought my daughter a baby Holland Lop bunny for Christmas this year. We are SO in love with her!!!! She is the sweetest, cuddle muffin of a bunny that my daughter named Flower. I did a quick petite session of my two girls when Flower was eight weeks old to show off her baby features and the love these two have for each other. She will never be this small again and I really wanted to document this time to have as a keepsake. My daughter chose three images that I printed large to frame in her room. Sweetest artwork for her bedroom of her cherished baby girl!

The first image you see here is my daughter’s favorite. For reference, that is cilantro she is eating. Isn’t she just the sweetest little thing?!

If you have a newborn pet that you would like photographed like this, contact Athens, GA professional photographers of Yvonne Niemann Photography to set up your appointment. I’d be happy to discuss options with you. info@yvonneniemannphotography.com. | 706.713.0676

Lavender Fields

“Her love was like lavender, delicate and melancholy.” ~ Laura Chouette

Lavender fields in Walla Walla Valley.

Today I am dreaming of these lavender fields in the Walla Walla Valley of Washington State. Such a peaceful and serene setting. The Blue Mountain Lavender Farm was a dream come true and just what I needed as I stepped off the plane. As I drove up to the property, the aroma of lavender lightly touched my nose and surrounded me. There was a bench on one edge of the gardens that I stopped to sit and enjoy the views and take it all in. I collected scissors and a gathering basket to cut some lavender to take with me, but in the end bought some that were freshly cut as the bees made me a bit uneasy since I am allergic. The owner assured me that the bees wouldn’t bother me and I watched others clip away without issue, so I am sure that it would have been fine, but since I was there for work, I did not want to risk it. Next time I will be brave and cut some myself. I really enjoyed walking the farm and taking time to read a bit in between taking pictures. I even had a very pleasant conversation with the owner before he got back to work on his tractor. (that’s him working hard in the pictures above) I loved the store inside where I bought lavender lemonade, a sachet as well as a freshly cut lavender bundle. Perfect relaxing way to start my stay in Walla Walla! I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
