Bella’s portrait session with her family this Autumn was heavenly. Everything aligned up perfectly and this lil’ princess was a pure delight. I had the opportunity to photograph her earlier this year, which produced beautiful portraits in Clayton this summer. She was wonderful to capture back then, but she has obviously been practicing her modeling over the past few months because she just fell into poses by herself and warmed up to the whole process much quicker this time. She’s just the cutest. Her mom did a fabulous job once again on wardrobe for the whole family. I understand she spent hours at night looking for the perfect outfits and I have to say, it really paid off. I mentioned that I may need to hire her as my personal shopper. Don’t you agree? One of my favorite locations is almost ready for pretty cherry tree blossom sessions! Every year is a little different - sometime the blooms are pink and other years they are the palest of pink. Lighting is perfect, lots of trees to give dimension and plenty of room to explore, cuddle and move.

Timing is everything when it comes to beach portrait sessions.
There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.
This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.
When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
