This portrait session was almost exactly one year ago. What a reminder how quickly things can change! Not only in the growth of these two boys, but also in the world. This was before Covid-19. Before social distancing was a thing and we were free to visit with loved ones, eat at restaurants and children were in school and having playdates. Before the time where you would have to wear a face mask to visit the grocery store.
As a professional child photographer, it has been hard to not capture meaningful moments for families. I have been keeping up my love of photography in other ways, but I yearn for the time that I can do portrait sessions once again. When I get the go-ahead and things are safe, I may have to alter things a bit for everyone’s safety, but it will be so worth it. I want to capture all the important milestones once again! I want to see all of your smiling faces in person!!!
I think one thing that this weird time in history has shown me is just what is really important. I view things a bit differently now and don’t take anything for granted. I have found simple pleasures here at home and in nature that still give me much comfort during uncertain times, which is quite reassuring. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by my favorite people during shelter-in-place orders and pray daily for those who are not as fortunate.
Today, I am going through past session images and thinking of all my sweet clients! Please know that your families have brought me much joy and are continuing to do so even today from afar. It is a wonderful gift to see your faces on my computer and to think that you have trusted me with these important milestones throughout the years. Thank you so much for all your support and for choosing me to be your photographer. It is such an honor and something I do not take for granted. I hope your portraits are bringing you joy in your own homes and are a reminder of how much love runs through your households. Hope to see all of you soon!!!
