Spring Engagement Photoshoot in Athens, GA

While I am practicing social distancing right now, I thought I would share these beautiful portraits from this couple’s Spring engagement photoshoot from last year. I love how pretty the Bradford Pear trees looked with all the white blossoms! I searched high and low for some pretty flowering trees and this part had them! They really add to the romance of the final portraits.

These two changed into different clothes for the second half of their session for a more casual look. I think they did a great job with both wardrobe choices. I also love that they brought their dog along. SO well behaved too.

We moved down to the water area for a little stroll and some dance time, which I absolutely adore!!!  You can really see their ease with each other and love shine through. It was such a pleasure photographing these two. They are just the sweetest and I love how they interact with each other. Such a beautiful couple inside and out!

These two are now married and I am sure they are so happy to live in the same city and are together now – especially during this Cornoavirus pandemic. It is nice to know you have someone to lean on during these uncertain times.

I know that many of you have been looking forward to Spring portraits and hopefully we will still be able to get those in soon. If not, Summer is always an option. We are so fortunate to have lots of blooming trees and beauty surrounding us here in Georgia on rotation throughout the year. So, we may not get the white blooms of Bradford Pear trees, but perhaps wisteria, apple blossoms, dogwood blooms, crepe myrtles, camellias or some other type of flowering tree. Of course, fresh green grass and pretty flowers will always be an option!

Yvonne Niemann Photography is still open, but will not be taking on sessions through mid-April. Since things are changing daily, I will re-evaluate things the first week of April. I will still be placing orders with vendors that are open and you can still book a session for the future. Gift certificates are always on option too. One of my favorite locations is almost ready for pretty cherry tree blossom sessions! Every year is a little different - sometime the blooms are pink and other years they are the palest of pink. Lighting is perfect, lots of trees to give dimension and plenty of room to explore, cuddle and move.

It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
