Snow White in St. Charles – A Child’s Photography Session!

Last Spring I had a fun child photography session with this lil’ beauty in St. Charles! Her favorite Disney character is Snow White, so her mom had this gorgeous costume made special for her. Isn’t it fabulous?! The attention to detail and the quality of the fabric, trimmings and seaming was outstanding. What a wonderful gift given to this lil’ girl as she gets to live out her role of her favorite character in such a realistic way. Kids imaginations run wild already, but you put an outfit like this on them and it takes it to a whole new level! It’s magical! Just like Snow White, this lil’ lady is kind, thoughtful and loves all the little creatures that Spring brings. At times, I would whistle a little bit of the dwarves song and she would just light up looking for her “friends”.  Adorable! This location was just perfect too as it has a German small town feel in certain areas, which of course is where Snow White is from. Turns out that this lil’ lady’s parents lived in Germany for some time too. It’s actually where they  met. It’s serendipity that their daughter’s favorite Disney character is from the same place where these parents fell in love!

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
