Fall Kids Portrait Photography in St. Louis

These two young men are such a blessing to their family and to each other. Always an honor when their parents commission me for their family portraits. I have been doing kids portrait photography sessions for this family since their first son was still in mom’s belly! That was one of the very last sessions that I did before moving to Georgia five years ago. Oh, how wonderful it is to bring things full circle when I go back to St. Louis and photograph them!

Fall Kids Portrait Photography in St. Louis

I love the image on the left on big brother holding his dad’s hand. It is such a comfort knowing that dad’s hand will always be there to help along the way throughout life for both his sons as well as for his wife. I was very impressed with how big brother helped out with his little brother at their session. He is obviously learning through example from his parents.

Baby brother was such a cuddle at the kids portrait photography session. He is at the age where he doesn’t want to be put down. But, I am so happy with the images we were able to get of him all on his own as well as those precious cuddling images that all of us parents cherish. Just look at that adorable face!

Mom, as usual, did a wonderful job dressing her family for their portraits. Love the color palette of navy, brown, cream and red. Very fitting for Fall kids portrait photography! Don’t you agree?!

I am back in Georgia and sessions are going fast this Fall. I know the weather is just starting to cool off and so your mind may just now be thinking of updating your family portraits. There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
