Serene Child Fine Art Portraiture in Oconee County, GA

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” ~ RALPH WALDO EMERSON

Serene fine art portrait of a little girl in long flowing gown in the woods in Bishop, GA.

Most mornings start with a walk in the woods out our back door. The light is absolutely heavenly in the morning and around sunset. It is truly the perfect spot for portraits. It is a place that gives me daily inspiration and simply makes my heart sing. The portrait above is of my daughter yesterday morning as we started our day. She is wearing one of my robes and had just finished her breakfast outside when we saw the family of deer that visit us daily. We went down into the pathway to see if we could see them a bit better as they went into the woods. This time I followed with my camera. I love this serene image of my little girl as she paused for a moment in our trail to check something out. So thankful to have such beautiful surroundings where we live and a place where we can daydream and let our imaginations run wild. Georgia is a dream come true.

Georgia Holiday | Savannah & Tybee Island

“If you search the world for happiness, you may find it in the end, for the world is round and will lead you back to your door.” ~ ROBERT BRAULT

Photo of lighthouse off Tybee Island, Georgia.Ahhhhh…..Georgia! How I adore my new home State. It’s been almost a year since my family moved to Georgia and we’ve been doing a lot of exploring as we make this our home. We couldn’t be happier. Such a wonderful fit. We recently took a mini holiday in the Savannah area. It has always been a place that I dreamed of visiting and I am so happy to be only a short three and a half hour drive from there. We stayed in Savannah and visited Tybee Island and Jekyll Island. I brought one film camera, one lens and two rolls of film to photograph the area as I wanted to keep things simple and organic as I captured this beautiful area. Above is a photo of one of the lighthouses off Tybee Island from our dolphin boat excursion with Captain Mike. It was the best dolphin outing we’ve ever had with great views and a ton of dolphin sightings at sunset.

Above is a photo of one of the beaches at Tybee Island. It was a hot day, but the water was refreshing and the beach wasn’t overly crowded. Pretty perfect.

The first two pictures below were from our visit at Jekyll Island‘s historic district. The remaining images are from around historic Savannah. I love the live oak trees and Spanish moss that delicately cascade down the tree limbs. I also love how in the south, people know how to make the ordinary extraordinary with their landscaping and the way their homes are presented. Quite magical and romantic. Such a beautiful area full of history and culture. I can’t wait to go back and explore some more.

Musician’s Senior Photos in Athens, GA

“If you can dream it, you can make it so.” ~ BELVA DAVIS

Male musician's senior photos in Athens, GA.

Last week my nephew came to visit me in Georgia and since he is going into his senior year of high school, we thought it was fitting to update his portraits of himself. This handsome man is a very talented musician who can pick up pretty much any instrument and start playing songs by ear. It’s a pretty amazing thing to witness. His passion right now is playing jazz on his trumpet and therefore he wanted to incorporate that music instrument into his senior photos. A couple days before his portrait session, we explored the downtown Athens, GA area and he instantly fell in love with the vibe and all the music influences throughout the area. He knew that was where he wanted his photo session to take place. He mentioned that he has never felt more alive inside than when surrounded by records and we were lucky enough to gain permission to get a few images in the ever famous Wuxtry Records. In total, this musician’s senior photo session took 45 minutes and produced a ton of variety. Mr. G mentioned how fun it was too…. Bonus! Congrats G man. I am confident that you will go far in life with all of your talents, smarts, and wonderful personality. Proud to be your Aunt!
