Authentic St. Louis Maternity Portraits

Maternity portraits, showcasing the love a couple has towards each other and their new baby, can be such a touching and enduring gift. Pregnancy in itself is a miracle and there’s something even more magical witnessing this special time for couples. They are growing their love and building a family even before their baby arrives. The anticipation and excitement is quite contagious. These parents-to-be were such a delight! As I was capturing this beautiful lady at their loft, I kept hearing her husband say, as he watched on, “So beautiful! Isn’t she stunning?!” It was so sweet and such an authentic reaction to his beautiful wife in front of him. She of course glowed in the light that enveloped her and the baby she is carrying. I am so excited to meet their bundle of joy! Not too much longer until the big mystery is revealed – boy or girl!? Of course, you can always choose your property or other favorite location for your photos, but sometimes you want something different.

I offer location scouting for all my sessions. All my clients fill out a questionnaire that asks questions to help me get an idea of your vision, style and wants. I then think of places that I think would be a good fit and head out to ensure things are looking good. Many times I need to find an alternative, so I drive (sometimes hike) and keep my eyes peeled until I find what I am looking for.

Sometimes you may be looking for something that only happens once a year. Luckily, since I am always looking at the landscape and how light hits certain areas, I also know when locations bloom, change color, and are ideal for particular looks. In those cases, let me know exactly what you are envisioning and I can suggest the best time to book your session.

I always keep in mind all family members when seeking out a location and have even had my husband build a ramp to help a wheelchair get into place. Just let me know if there are any limitations or concerns so I can help things go as smoothly as possible.

Location scouting and finding backdrops that will complement your final photographic artwork is something I enjoy! So happy to be able to help my clients in this way.
