Watkinsville Autumn Family Portraits

Autumn family portraits are under way! Things are just starting to change colors here in the Athens, GA area, but there is still plenty of green to go around too. This family was celebrating their daughter’s first birthday and chose an early morning session, which is when their little girl is her happiest. Lucky for them, their back yard is backlit with the most beautiful morning light, which gave a magical glow.

The heirloom pastel pink dress was the perfect outfit for her first birthday portraits in the Fall setting of fallen leaves. She was a little under the weather the morning of her session, but you would never know from looking at these images. Such a sweet little girl.

Forty deserves to be celebrated!

For her 40th birthday portraits, she wanted vibrant color, an urban setting and images that felt fun, polished and completely her. We photographed at the same Atlanta location where she would later celebrate her birthday, complete with a brand-new haircut, balloons, a cupcake bouquet and the most fabulous birthday cake purse.

A milestone birthday is the perfect excuse to step in front of the camera and celebrate this season of life in your own style.

And just like that…the final milestone of her first year.

I first photographed this sweet girl while she was still in her mama’s belly, followed by tummy time, sitting, crawling and now her first birthday. Watching those tiny changes unfold through photographs is such a special part of what I do.

For her birthday session, we filled my studio with balloons and let her explore. Simple, classic and celebratory - with no worries about the Georgia heat or unpredictable weather.

Such a beautiful way to remember one very big year.
