Portraits By Studio Newborn Photographer | Athens

As a newborn photographer in the Athens, GA area, I love to offer options for my clients. This mom chose a studio newborn Simplicity Session for her baby girl. She wore one of my gowns and her baby used one of the studio swaddles and accessories. Easy peasy for mom! Gotta love that.

You don’t need props for newborn sessions. Let your baby and you be the focus of attention without distractions. If props are used, they are things that make sense, like a bassinet or Moses basket. Same with poses. Posing are more baby led and are things that babies would normally do. A few adjustments are done to ensure things don’t look awkward and are most flattering, but still overall natural.

Timing is everything when it comes to beach portrait sessions.

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.

I love finding locations that have elements of nature I adore. Magical lighting. layers of foliage, pretty flowers, pathways, tunnels of trees, boulders, various water elements and all the little details in between.

As things are warming up, nature is coming alive. You can see hints of it with grass greening up, tiny buds on trees and certain flowers showing off their beauty already. That also means that cherry blossoms will be flowering in the near future too!

I`ll be keeping an eye on things and when I have a better prediction of when they will be in bloom, I`ll make an announcement. Stay tuned.
