Newborn photography sessions in Athens, GA are always a joy. I had the honor to photograph this family with their infant girl at their home a few weeks after their little girl was born. The parents’ bedroom and the nursery were the perfect settings for their images – especially since they spend a lot of time in these rooms.
Love the classic heirloom gown mom chose for her girls. They will always stand the test of time and make newborn photos that much more meaningful.
A benefit of photographing a baby when they are a bit older is that you can get these precious wide eyed images as well as more varied facial expressions. I mean….you cannot get over that smile, those beautiful eyes and those stunning eyelashes.
I always like to get sibling images during newborn photography sessions when possible. Big sister wasn’t super into being photographed with her baby sister, but I had a few tricks up my sleeve to get some images that will be cherished for years to come. She really loves her little sister. Sometimes it is a hard transition for a toddler to go from an only child to having to share the spotlight with another person. Totally understandable. Some patience, understanding and tricks always seems to help.
We finished things off in the nursery. This room is the one that mom and dad have spent a lot of time making perfect for their little girl. Now that she is here, it deserves to be the location for their baby’s newborn photography session. Great reason to do your portraits in the comfort of your home.
