All weekend, while in St. Louis, it was supposed to rain. Luckily that was not he case, but thankfully it DID rain for this little man’s photo session. His mom had told me that he is obsessed with his new rain boots and his umbrella. He uses both, rain and shine! Love that stage of childhood!!!!!
We chose a location that gave us some options to stay dry, but would give some pretty backdrops for being outside in the elements. I think this little guy was happy that it actually rained and that his parents allowed him to sport his favorite accessories. He seemed to really enjoy himself! We got some great images of him in this setting, under a super cool pavilion that matched his outfit and on concrete where he could jump in puddles and really make a splash. What a fun family portrait session. I am always impressed with his parents who are so much fun, patient and sweet. I guess that’s where this handsome little one gets his demeanor.
When doing a portrait session, consider allowing your children to include some of their favorite things. This phase is short-lived and worth documenting. Kids are perfect just as they are and they will be proud that they were allowed to truly be themselves and show off their style.
