The sounds of birds chirping in the morning, frogs singing in the evening and the birth of fresh grass, budding trees and blooming flowers are all signs of a new season full of promise. What is more fitting for a pregnancy photo shoot? This beautiful couple expecting their first child couldn’t be sweeter. They were so excited to meet their son in a few short months and their energy was contagious. There is something so romantic about pregnancy. I think it’s the love between a couple creating this human being that intensifies the affectionate feelings. This is such an amazing time and always such a privilege to create beautiful photographic artwork for couples going through this experience of life together. Forty deserves to be celebrated!

For her 40th birthday portraits, she wanted vibrant color, an urban setting and images that felt fun, polished and completely her. We photographed at the same Atlanta location where she would later celebrate her birthday, complete with a brand-new haircut, balloons, a cupcake bouquet and the most fabulous birthday cake purse.

And just like that…the final milestone of her first year.

I first photographed this sweet girl while she was still in her mama’s belly, followed by tummy time, sitting, crawling and now her first birthday. Watching those tiny changes unfold through photographs is such a special part of what I do.

For her birthday session, we filled my studio with balloons and let her explore. Simple, classic and celebratory - with no worries about the Georgia heat or unpredictable weather.

Such a beautiful way to remember one very big year.
