Spring Child Outdoor Photography in a Field in Watkinsville, GA

Outdoor photography is my absolute favorite! It is where I get to merge my love of the beauty Mother Nature bestows upon us along with my passion for timeless portraits! This was a heavenly child photography session in a fresh Spring field in Watkinsville, GA. Love the purple flowers and the lush greens. Perfect setting for this beautiful Southern lady!

The sun setting gave us a magical glow that you only get at this time of day. Really added to the final photographic artwork. The dress Miss P is wearing is a part of the Yvonne Niemann Photography wardrobe closet. It is super feminine and goes with so many settings and skin-tones. It was a clear winner for this particular backdrop.

This lil’ lady was a delight to photograph. She is super sweet and loved collecting flowers and posing for the camera. She has two brothers, so having some time alone is a special treat. She really got to shine in her own portrait session before heading out for some special girl time with her mom. What a great way to make a girl feel loved!

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
