Child Photography in Fields of Flowers in Oconee County

Such a delight to photograph this brother and sister duo in fields of flowers in Oconee County yesterday morning. I was really fortunate to have found this field that would work in the late morning with beautiful light, flowers and cut pathways through the lush tall grass. It made for the perfect setting for these two and we were able to get them during the day that they are their happiest!

These two are so sweet together. I love their little personalities. Little sister has such a precious smile and really looks up to her brother. Big brother adores his sister and really looks after her. They had fun exploring and playing. Love that they agreed to cuddle together for some sweet images of the siblings too. Cannot wait to share those!

Mom did a great job with their wardrobe. The pale blue smocked dress was very fitting for this Southern lady and I love the Spring green checkered shirt and shorts this lil’ man is sporting. Looked great with their skin tones, the season and the location. I love how they coordinate well together without being too matchy. Allows their individual personalities to shine through.

This is a perfect time for outdoor portraits. The weather has been quite agreeable and mild. Very comfortable before the heat wave hits here in the South. There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
