Yesterday I traveled to Atlanta to photograph a family to document their son’s first birthday. Little man got a bit tired and needed some soothing from his mother. This photo shows just one of those moments. Sometimes we as children just need the comfort of our parents to make things better. It is never ending and something I still seek as an adult. The love of a mother and the comfort we receive from a simple hug, hearing their voice or even inhaling their perfume can make everything seem just a little bit better. It’s a magical power that all parents seem to possess. Eternally grateful.

Love this area of the historic district of Jekyll Island. Pretty walkways, roads, buildings, trees and scenery. It is like taking a step back in time in many ways. I have been photographing my daughter in this exact location for the last few summers and it never disappoints.
