Second Birthday and Baptism Portraits in Oconee County, GA

I had the great honor to photograph this little lady for her second birthday and baptism portraits here in Oconee County, GA. Such a special time and a great way to document these important milestones!

We started the photo session outside in the beautiful morning light in the wooded trail and then when things heated up, we went inside to finish up the portraits of this Southern lady in her baptism dress along with a handmade blanket and satin shoes that her mom wore for her own baptism. All family heirlooms that have such special meaning. Priceless!

I am so fortunate to have been able to watch Miss T grow up through the lens of my camera. Her mom and dad have trusted me with their portraits since they were expecting their baby girl and we did their maternity photography session. Now, here is this little lady being born yet again through her baptism at their family church.

Love her little personality and all the faces she makes. Such a sweet little girl who is so thoughtful and caring already at such a young age. She loves dancing, laughing, twirling and snuggling with mom. She is also inquisitive and ready to take on the world! Her independence is really coming through!!!! Looking forward to seeing where she goes in life. I know she will go far – especially with the guidance of her parents.

I have always been inspired by nature and it will always be something I love to photograph. I think it shows in my work with my portrait sessions too. I love finding locations that have elements of nature I adore. Magical lighting. layers of foliage, pretty flowers, pathways, tunnels of trees, boulders, various water elements and all the little details in between.

Looking forward to Spring and all that it brings. Since moving to Georgia, it is my absolute favorite season. What`s your favorite?

As things are warming up, nature is coming alive. You can see hints of it with grass greening up, tiny buds on trees and certain flowers showing off their beauty already. That also means that cherry blossoms will be flowering in the near future too!

I`ll be keeping an eye on things and when I have a better prediction of when they will be in bloom, I`ll make an announcement. Stay tuned.

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.
