San Diego Sibling Photo Portrait

San Diego tween sibling photo portrait.

This past Saturday I photographed these two siblings for their photo portrait session in San Diego. Mom wanted some nice images of her children to document this time in their lives and showcase their personalities. She specifically wanted some laughing candids too, which we got quite a few of!

This handsome young man is such a ham. I love his spunk, smile and laughter. He really knows how to have a good time and ADORES his sister. He knows how to tease her to get a good smile out of her too. Not sure if she always enjoys it, but I have a feeling the adoration is quite mutual. They really light up together when they think nobody is looking.

Big sister is in 10th grade and is quite the fashionable lady. She is such a sweet spirit who really cares about her mom and those in her life. She is quite impressive. We moved away from onlookers to give her some privacy and so she could relax in front of the camera. She is quite the model and my lens loved her! She is beautiful inside and out.

Such a pleasure photographing these two and I know mom will cherish these portraits as well as these her children as they grow up. Such strong bonds worth capturing through photographic artwork.

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
