One Month Sweetness!

This sweet lil’ man was six weeks old when I captured his infant portraits at his family’s home in St. Louis. He was so sweet. I love how filled out babies are at this age and I just adore his round face and pouty lips. Isn’t he just perfect? During his session, he didn’t like being messed with too much so I let him be his cute self and did a lot of swaddling since that’s what he needed and calmed him. He loves having his arms out, which I thought was super cute with the way he placed his hands while resting. His parents said that he loves having his hands by his face when he sleeps, so I was glad that we were able to capture that for them. It’s these little things that parents want to remember. All those little details that change so quickly – especially within the first year. Congrats S family. Your baby boy rounds out your family nicely.

I have always been inspired by nature and it will always be something I love to photograph. I think it shows in my work with my portrait sessions too. I love finding locations that have elements of nature I adore. Magical lighting. layers of foliage, pretty flowers, pathways, tunnels of trees, boulders, various water elements and all the little details in between.

Looking forward to Spring and all that it brings. Since moving to Georgia, it is my absolute favorite season. What`s your favorite?

As things are warming up, nature is coming alive. You can see hints of it with grass greening up, tiny buds on trees and certain flowers showing off their beauty already. That also means that cherry blossoms will be flowering in the near future too!

I`ll be keeping an eye on things and when I have a better prediction of when they will be in bloom, I`ll make an announcement. Stay tuned.

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.
