Beautiful photo showing the connection and love between mother and daughter in a field of purple flowers in Oconee County, GA.

The love and connection between mothers and daughters is so beautiful and pure. It is something that we all long for regardless of age. It is unconditional love in the finest form and something we should never take for granted. Yesterday, I photographed this mother/daughter duo in a field in my neighborhood in Oconee County. These purple flowers pop up once a year towards the end of summer and I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for these two beautiful ladies. Lil’ Miss A has a purple room and her mom wanted some portraits to display in there. Their simple while outfits with the tiny pop of purple in A’s hair bow was the perfect wardrobe choice for this location while keeping the focus on the beautiful connection between mother and child. Great example of what to wear! Happy birthday Miss A! You are a beautiful lady inside and out. Such a pleasure to photograph you and your mom last night.

Of course, you can always choose your property or other favorite location for your photos, but sometimes you want something different.

I offer location scouting for all my sessions. All my clients fill out a questionnaire that asks questions to help me get an idea of your vision, style and wants. I then think of places that I think would be a good fit and head out to ensure things are looking good. Many times I need to find an alternative, so I drive (sometimes hike) and keep my eyes peeled until I find what I am looking for.

Sometimes you may be looking for something that only happens once a year. Luckily, since I am always looking at the landscape and how light hits certain areas, I also know when locations bloom, change color, and are ideal for particular looks. In those cases, let me know exactly what you are envisioning and I can suggest the best time to book your session.

I always keep in mind all family members when seeking out a location and have even had my husband build a ramp to help a wheelchair get into place. Just let me know if there are any limitations or concerns so I can help things go as smoothly as possible.

Location scouting and finding backdrops that will complement your final photographic artwork is something I enjoy! So happy to be able to help my clients in this way.

I had the great opportunity to do some content creation photography for the local store, Bird & Brass. Local artist, Erika Pfluke, is a lover of birds and nature. Her entire store reflects that. She hand paints bibles, for men and women, showcasing her talent and passions. She needed some branding images of her work for a venture with a bible company, which is where I came in.

I had put together a storyboard for her along with a list of suggested items that would be perfect for her branding images - from wardrobe, paints, furniture, paint on apron, to accessories. She loved the ideas and we went for it!

We decided to do her content creation photography session in her yard so that she did not have to haul her art too far and to be in a place that in comfortable to her. The outdoor session is also fitting for her artwork of flowers and birds. Nothing like painting nature in nature.

This picture was taken when my daughter was a freshman in high school and yesterday we moved her to college as a freshman at Georgia College and State University. Surreal.

I have such mixed emotions. I am incredibly proud and excited for her, but I will miss her immensely. I kept things together until I left the dorm room and got into the parking lot. That is when it hit me that she moved out and I wouldn`t see her on the daily anymore.

I will miss our daily talks, her play by plays of her day, nightly favorite Tik Tok watches, our walks and hearing her sing, laugh and talk. I will really miss our laughs. Man, we can laugh!

I am looking forward to hearing all about her adventures and insights on college life. This is a new chapter, but not the end of the book.

This is exactly what Michael and I raised Lily to be able to do. Leave the nest and be an independent adult who can make her own dreams come alive. Lucky to be able to witness it all unfold and support her in life.

So proud to be this gals mom. Could not have asked for a better daughter. Lucky to have gained a friend too

Congratulations baby girl! Love you to the moon and back and for more than eternity.
