First birthday portraits of a baby girl at Athens, GA Botanical Gardens.

Oh, what a dream baby! This beautiful lil’ lady just celebrated her first birthday and I was fortunate to photograph her one year portraits this morning at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens. She was the very first newborn I photographed after moving to Georgia, so she is extra special to me. I have photographed her a few times over the past year and she is always such a delight. This morning was no different. She danced, laughed, clapped, smiled and just lit up the world. I know she lights up many people’s lives – especially her parents and grandparents. Her parents really lucked out with Miss L. She is what I would classify as an angel baby. Very content, happy and easy going. She completes her family very nicely. Congrats on making it through your first year! You have much to look forward to and will make many people happy throughout your life. Enjoy the sneak peek. Lots more to come!

I have always been inspired by nature and it will always be something I love to photograph. I think it shows in my work with my portrait sessions too. I love finding locations that have elements of nature I adore. Magical lighting. layers of foliage, pretty flowers, pathways, tunnels of trees, boulders, various water elements and all the little details in between.

Looking forward to Spring and all that it brings. Since moving to Georgia, it is my absolute favorite season. What`s your favorite?

As things are warming up, nature is coming alive. You can see hints of it with grass greening up, tiny buds on trees and certain flowers showing off their beauty already. That also means that cherry blossoms will be flowering in the near future too!

I`ll be keeping an eye on things and when I have a better prediction of when they will be in bloom, I`ll make an announcement. Stay tuned.

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.
