Fall Family Portraits in Athens, GA

Fall family portraits taken in Athens, GA at a local lake surrounded by vibrant trees.

Last night I photographed this beautiful family for their fall family portraits in Athens, GA. It was a cloudy Autumn day, but the colors will still amazing and luckily we beat the rain that arrived just a few hours later. These four are such a delight to be around. You can just feel the love they have for each other and you know they have a wonderful time together. Brother and sister never argued even once. That is pretty rare. In fact, little sister got a little choked up when her brother and dad would go explore without her and her mom. I loved hearing about their upcoming Halloween costumes and how excited they were to tell me about their new outfits. Apparently Super Man’s favorite skill is saving people from alligators and Cookie Monster plans on eating 1,000 cookies this coming weekend. I can’t wait to see pictures of them in costume. These four have camping plans in the near future and hopefully last night’s photo session helped them get in the mood to be surrounded by the beauty of Mother Nature.

Mom did an excellent job picking out everyone’s outfits. Perfect example of what to wear for fall family portraits. I love how their wardrobe coordinates and how the colors fit in with this time of year. Mom’s purple belt matches son’s shirt and daughter’s shoes and hair barrette and the navy blue in dad’s sweater coordinates with daughter’s dress and everyone’s blue jeans. Love that the boys are wearing button down shirts too. Casual and timeless.

Such a loving and sweet family with children with the best manners. Thank you for trusting me with your family portraits. Enjoy the sneak peek. Many more to come!

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.

I know we have all heard about the winter storm that is heading our way this weekend. Instead of thinking of ice, I am choosing to think about the warm beach!
