Ahhhh….Spring! I cannot wait for the beauty of flowering trees and new growth given to us by Mother Nature. Family Spring portraits are always a joy and as a professional Athens, GA photographer, I am blessed with so much beauty throughout the year, but especially in the Spring! Such a sense of renewal and warmth embracing all of us as we get out of the short winter months in Georgia. The delicate colors of flowering trees and blooming plants are abundant. Last Spring, I was still living in St. Louis, but came to visit Athens, GA and surrounding areas to see if this would be a good place for our family to relocate. We instantly fell in love! I strongly remember the beauty and how my breath was taken away by all the white and different shades of pink blossoming trees. I vowed that if we moved here, I would plant cherry blossom trees, crepe myrtles and perhaps peach trees too. In the summer, we moved to the Athens, GA area and we planted two cherry blossom trees in our new yard and we will be adding crepe myrtles and peach trees this year! I am in heaven here in Georgia and look forward to the upcoming season of Spring. It will be such a treat to witness it from the beginning this year. It will be like unwrapping a special present. The anticipation makes me giddy!
Since Spring is on my mind, I decided to blog this adorable family’s portrait session that took place among pretty pink flowering trees! This sweet baby boy was such an honor to photograph as I had photographed him as a newborn as well. Amazing how quickly babies grow and change in such a short time. Mr. R’s personality is so great! Full of laughter and curiosity. He loved cuddling up to mom and dad, but also loved his independence as he explored the area. Mom had mentioned that her favorite trees were flowering magnolias, so I searched for the perfect location for this family and luckily happened upon this spot. We had rain and cold days prior, so I knew many of the flowers would be off the trees already, but thankfully there were still plenty in this spot still hanging onto the branches. Pure perfection!
