There is nothing like family photos outside in the Spring! Love the fresh greens, delicate wild flowers and mild temperatures. Great for hair too since it isn’t too humid yet either. Spring is certainly my favorite time to photograph outside. Beauty is just everywhere and seems to change almost daily.

This young lady and her parents chose family photos outside in this beautiful field in Watkinsville, GA. Not too far from their house and allowed them to get some shopping done and have nice meal afterwards. Might as well take advantage of being all dressed up, right?!

The first time I photographed this sweet family was for their daughter’s newborn portraits. I then photographed her a few times after that when she was still a little thing. Boy does time fly! She has turned into such a beautiful young lady. Love how her parents interact with her and how they show their love. Great role models.

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
