Over Memorial Day Weekend, I got to photograph this handsome country baby for his first birthday portraits. It has been such a pleasure documenting each of his milestones during his first year of life. It all began with his newborn portraits a year ago here in Athens, GA. He has such a fun personality and is super laid back.
He was having allergy and teething issues a couple days ago, but you would never know as he was super happy and just went with the flow. We took several breaks to allow the birthday boy some air conditioning time since the summer heat was taking over. Seemed to do the trick! We started the session with family portraits and then moved on to images with each parent with their adorable son. After that, the focus was all on Mr. R!
His mom always picks the best outfits and this was no exception. The romper shown here was perfect for a Southern baby in the summer heat. He later changed into denim overalls, which worked out great for the barn setting and then lastly, he changed into a onesie for some festive birthday images.
This barn setting provided the perfect backdrop for this family’s portraits and the feel they were going after. The light was stunning and gave a magical glow as it streamed through the wooden planks and doorway. Next to the barn were plenty of green trees and foliage for a completely different look, while keeping things natural and rustic. Lots of variety in a small space is always a great thing!
