This little man was just about to turn one when his customized photography session took place. A baby’s first birthday portraits are something that will always be treasured and the photographic artwork will surely be family heirlooms. I know this family will look at these images with amazement when their baby boy grows up as they remember these days and just how tiny their son was. They will look into those eyes and that adorable smile and recognize how some things remain the same even though many things change as our children grow up. As they view their baby’s first birthday portraits today, they may go through a plethora of emotions as they remember how a year ago they were just meeting their son for the first time and be amazed at just how big he has gotten. They may want time to slow down and stop for a bit. Luckily, in a way, family portraits can do just that!
I first photographed this family when their baby boy was still in the womb for their maternity portraits. I had the honor to meet baby O for this newborn portraits and now again for his first birthday portraits. We brought things full circle by going to the same location we did their pregnancy photos. This field was full of yellow flowers back then, but for their family portraits, it was full of white Queen Anne’s Lace flowers.
This little man has the happiest personality. He is always smiling and his laughter is quite contagious. My cheeks hurt after this session! I love the connection between parents and their son. They really enjoy their time together and it is evident through their portraits. I believe they have many happy days and years ahead of them! Can’t wait to see baby O grow.
