Baby’s Christmas Portrait

I had fun photographing this baby’s Christmas portrait yesterday afternoon in a field here in Oconee County, Georgia. He recently celebrated his first birthday, which made it even more special. Every time I photograph him, he has new teeth coming in, but that will soon change as almost all of his teeth have come in now. He is such a happy baby and doesn’t let the discomfort get him down at all. His parents played an Elmo song that got this lil’ man dancing, clapping and smiling. They only needed the music at the beginning of their session as W warmed up really quickly after that and enjoyed playing with his parents, exploring and showing off his walking skills in the field of pine trees. He resembles both of his parents in looks and personality. They have such a special bond and really have a lot of fun together. The pure joy you see when these three are together is so apparent. Such an honor to capture it through my camera for them.

His mom always finds the best outfits fitting for a Southern baby boy! What he has on here is no exception. Such a classic. Great example of what to wear for a baby’s Christmas portrait.

I have always been inspired by nature and it will always be something I love to photograph. I think it shows in my work with my portrait sessions too. I love finding locations that have elements of nature I adore. Magical lighting. layers of foliage, pretty flowers, pathways, tunnels of trees, boulders, various water elements and all the little details in between.

Looking forward to Spring and all that it brings. Since moving to Georgia, it is my absolute favorite season. What`s your favorite?

As things are warming up, nature is coming alive. You can see hints of it with grass greening up, tiny buds on trees and certain flowers showing off their beauty already. That also means that cherry blossoms will be flowering in the near future too!

I`ll be keeping an eye on things and when I have a better prediction of when they will be in bloom, I`ll make an announcement. Stay tuned.

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.
