Spring Family Pictures

Last year I was commissioned for this family’s portraits and I was so happy to get to photograph this adorable family. I had photographed them a few years back, so it was such a treat to create photographic artwork for them again. The girls had grown quite a bit, but their sweet personalities and wonderful manners will still the same. This family is full of bookworms and they spend a lot of time at this library, so it made perfect sense to use it as their backdrop for their family portraits.

Since the architecture is light in color, I thought it would be fitting for a light color palette in wardrobe selection, which is exactly what I suggested for this family wear. Fitting for the location and season. I think the mom did a fantastic job pulling their outfits together. Mom started with the girl’s outfits and then built on that. Love how their clothes coordinate, but aren’t matchy matchy. Great example of what to wear for Spring family pictures.

One of my favorite locations is almost ready for pretty cherry tree blossom sessions! Every year is a little different - sometime the blooms are pink and other years they are the palest of pink. Lighting is perfect, lots of trees to give dimension and plenty of room to explore, cuddle and move.

If you would like to take advantage of what Spring brings us every year, contact me as soon as possible. Once these trees bloom, they don`t last long.

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
