A couple of days ago I photographed these sisters for commissioned portraits. It rained most of the weekend, so we ended up doing this petite session in the light rain. You would never know from looking at this image though. Well, except for perhaps the wet ground. The girls didn’t complain once. They did however show their sisterly love throughout the session. They are cuddle bugs and really adore each other. Their mom mentioned how she really wanted to show that side of them as siblings, as she really hopes that their adoration for each other continues throughout their lives. It is who they are and I love it! They are just the sweetest girls and their beauty shines inside and out. I have really enjoyed watching this family grow through the years and it is always an honor to photograph them through my camera.
Mom did a fantastic job dressing the family for their family portraits! The girls were in a wedding not long ago and these dresses were what they wore for that big event. I often recommend flower girl dresses for children’s portraits as they are so beautiful and dreamy. They usually have nice details that you don’t always find on regular dresses. Easter and Christmas dresses often are great choices too. So, next time you are purchasing a dress for your daughter for a wedding or big holiday, set it aside and reuse it for portraits!
