I had the great honor of photographing this handsome ten year old for his birthday portraits on the shoals of Watson Mill Bridge State Park. As a child photographer based out of Athens, Georgia, I am so blessed with such great scenery and natural landscapes to use as backdrops for portraits. So many options to fit anyone’s personality and style. This particular setting was perfect for this Southern tween boy. He loves the outdoors and feels right at home in the woods and in water.
His mom joined in for a few mother/son portraits too, which is something I always encourage. These two have such a special bond and I am so glad that they will have these images to enjoy now and into the future.
I cannot get over how mature he looks in these photos. I have been photographing this family for three years now and it is amazing to see everyone grow and change over the years. He really enjoyed being in front of the camera and naturally set into comfortable poses. He made my job as a child photographer super easy! It was fun for me and Mr. J exclaimed how fun it was for him after his portrait session. That always makes me happy!
If you haven’t been to Watson Mill Bridge State Park, make sure to check it out! Kids play on the shoals as they serve as natural water slides in the Summer and it is a great place for hiking and camping in the Fall. It is also a favorite place for our family to go canoeing. We always bring our own canoe, but you can rent them there if needed. Great place to bring your horse too!
