Field of Dreams – Beautiful Maternity Photos

Last night I had the honor to create beautiful maternity photos for this lovely couple in Florissant, MO. I drive past this field weekly and when I saw the mustard flowers, I thought it would make for the perfect backdrop for for this particular photography session as the mom-to-be had mentioned that she likes fields with wildflowers and the glow of sunset. Luckily the field was positioned correctly for that too! We were all happy that we didn’t get rained on, as we had scattered thunderstorms all day leading up to their customized portrait session.

These two are just so sweet together and I know they will make fabulous parents. They certainly have an abundance of love to go around. There’s this glow with these two when they are together. When they smile at each other you can sense their adoration for one another as their faces light up and there’s this pure joyous feeling that radiates from them. So beautiful and sweet!

We got some beautiful portraits showcasing this special time during the last trimester of their pregnancy. I am so excited to show the rest of this couple’s maternity photos and to meet their baby boy in a couple of months. Congrats you two! Not much longer and you’ll be holding your sweet little boy in your arms!

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
