I absolutely love maternity photos. The beauty, excitement, love and romance of this time is so touching and a wonderful honor to photograph. I know that over the years, families will look at these images with love, awe and almost disbelief how this little human being was growing in mom’s belly and is now here in this world! I know that’s how I feel when I look at my own maternity portraits and my daughter loves looking at them as well. It really is an amazing thing!

This couple’s maternity portraits took place at Botanical Gardens where the beauty of Mother Nature is just overwhelming. This was the perfect location for this couple as they frequent the gardens together and plan on taking their son there through the years. I made sure to create photographic artwork in their favorite locations at the park to give them even more meaning.

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.

I know we have all heard about the winter storm that is heading our way this weekend. Instead of thinking of ice, I am choosing to think about the warm beach!
