Beautiful fall family portraits in the woods taken by Athens, GA family photographer, Yvonne Niemann Photography.

Today’s sneak peek is of a family that I’ve been photographing since their family first began with their first daughter. I was so happy to create beautiful family pictures of them again for commissioned portrait sessions. We chose this particular park for their backdrop since it is super close to their house, which made it convenient for this growing family of four. I loved this area in woods, which gave us some variety from the paved trails that are throughout the park. Gave us some privacy too, which is always welcomed. Their newest addition is so sweet and laid back. She absolutely adores being in her parents’ arms. Gives her much comfort. She has the most beautiful big blue eyes and the most perfect round face. She really resembles her big sister from when she was a baby. Such a treat to see! Big sister loves her sibling and is super proud of how she helps take care of her. I have a feeling these two will be best buds for life. Congrats S family on your newest addition! Enjoy your sneak peek. Many, many more to come.

One of my favorite locations is almost ready for pretty cherry tree blossom sessions! Every year is a little different - sometime the blooms are pink and other years they are the palest of pink. Lighting is perfect, lots of trees to give dimension and plenty of room to explore, cuddle and move.

Timing is everything when it comes to beach portrait sessions.

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
