I adore capturing these boys and their recent Summer outdoor family photography session was no different. I first photographed this family when the eldest was still in his mom’s belly. I then photographed each of these boy’s newborn portraits. What an honor to be able to witness their growth, personalities and relationships mature and change through the years through the lens of my camera.
This outdoor family photography session was a bit tricky since it rained the entire weekend. I did many sessions in the rain and some we moved to an indoor location. This particular session was scheduled first thing in the morning, but it was storming and we had to delay things a bit. When they arrived, it was sprinkling, but it wasn’t bad and it quickly cleared out for us for enough time to get their portraits in!
These two brothers are so sweet together and were great helpers throughout the session. Quite the little models! We played a few games to get certain required images, which was not only fun, but necessary for the times the boys were not interested in participating. Luckily, I have a few tricks up my sleeve that helps little ones forget that they are getting their pictures taken and result in natural and adorable images.
I have to take a moment and point out this family’s wardrobe. Great example of what to wear for Summer outdoor family photography. I love how the colors coordinate together and fit in with the season and location. I love how the patterns work together while still allowing each individual to show off their style and personality. It is also super important to be comfortable, yet fashionable for your portraits. Always think about the weather of the time of year you are having your portraits taken. In the heat of the Summer months, this family’s wardrobe is pretty perfect!
