This beautiful little lady was celebrating her eighth birthday and her mom was looking for fine art photographers in the Athens, GA area to document this special moment for her daughter and her. I am so honored to have been chosen to capture these images for them. They borrowed this beautiful dress from the Yvonne Niemann Photography wardrobe and we worked together to come up with hair ideas to compliment the dress and this lil’ lady. She was even pampered with a manicure and pedicure along with her mom earlier that morning. Love how her mom made it a special day for the two of them.
I suggested the shoals for the location of their photo session as it fit the personality of this birthday girl, while keeping things a bit cooler during the Summer Georgia heat. It worked wonders! Miss A enjoyed exploring the area and splashing her feet in the cool water. I love how the fresh greenery made the girls pop out from the images too. The colors of this location really complimented the mother daughter duo’s outfits. Mom borrowed a dress from the studio’s wardrobe closet as well. It fit her perfectly and was so pretty on!
I love it when parents decide to be in portraits with their children. It means so much to their child who will always look back at these images and remember how loved they were and what a special bond they had with their parent. It is a great way to allow these memories to live on. It is also meaningful to the parent who will get to freeze their child in this moment through portraiture. It is amazing how at this moment in time, a parent can see how much their baby has grown and in just a short time, when they look back at these same images, they will reminded just how small they used to be. We should all be documented like this – not only for us, but for the generations to come.
Love her gummy smile and her sweet personality shining through here. Isn’t she just the sweetest?! She is wearing special jewelry given to her from her parents, which I know will be cherished for years to come.
