Fall Lifestyle Family Photos | State Botanical Gardens of Georgia

This morning I got to spend time with this beautiful family for their Fall lifestyle family photos at State Botanical Gardens of Georgia. UGA sure does a wonderful job keeping up the gardens and it is absolutely stunning right now.

These boys are two years old and just the sweetest. One is much more adventurous and independent and the other is more cautious and likes to be held. Mom mentioned how the boys have changed who their person is recently. Any parent will understand this. One moment you are the apple of their eye and the next moment, they want nothing to do with you and only want your other half. Ebbs and flows.

Love the boys curls and their personalities. At the end of their session, they really opened up as they got to play with water. I purposely did that at the end of the session as I was concerned about them getting wet and boy did they ever get wet! They had a blast though and it was worth all the smiles and adorable captures. While they were at play, you could really see how these brothers interact and how much they look up to each other. They are in for a lifetime of good times ahead of them. Their parents will lead them through life in a fun and supportive way. Loved seeing the four of them together. Such a loving and sweet family.

When is the best time for a newborn session?

For those tiny, curled-up, super sleepy images, I usually recommend the first two weeks.

But honestly… there’s no wrong time to document a new baby.

Many of my families choose to schedule their session around six weeks. By then baby is a little bigger, often more wide-eyed and curious, and parents and siblings are usually more rested and settling into their new rhythm.

You may still get some sleepy moments — just a little less curled up.

Every stage of these early days is beautiful and worth remembering.

One of my favorite locations is almost ready for pretty cherry tree blossom sessions! Every year is a little different - sometime the blooms are pink and other years they are the palest of pink. Lighting is perfect, lots of trees to give dimension and plenty of room to explore, cuddle and move.
