I recently had the great honor of doing a 50 year anniversary photoshoot for this wonderful couple in Athens, GA. It meant the world to me that they trusted me with their big milestone portraits. It was actually a gift from the husband to his wife, which is just the sweetest thing. He used to work for Kodak, so he knows photography, which made it that much more of a compliment that he picked me to be their photographer. These two are so in love and it really shows in how they interact with each other. Their second home is on a lake and they enjoy their time outdoors, so we picked this local lake to showcase them as a couple and their favorite type of location to spend time with each other.
I think it is so important to get in front of the camera for not only ourselves, but for our children and the generations to come. That was exactly this couple’s sentiment. They wanted images to gift to their children and grand children. Such a thoughtful gift and something everyone will cherish. It had been a long time since they did a portrait session that focused on them as a couple, which I feel is so common once we get married and have children. It is why I always encourage parents to get images of them alone during a family portrait session. It is something that is super meaningful to you and for your children. Always great for children to see their parents in love and it documented through portraiture.
