This week’s photography challenge, that I’m partaking in with a group of photographers, is the theme “collection.” The first thought that came to mind was my collection of vintage cameras. I started collecting these relics back in High School, but lost almost all of my photography treasures in college when my room flooded. Thankfully I’ve been able to rebuild my camera collection with these beauties. They sit in my office with pride.
Sibling images are such an important part of a newborn session. They preserve the very beginning of a lifelong relationship—the wonder, curiosity and tenderness of welcoming a new baby into the family.
Toddlers do not always understand posing, so sometimes we turn it into a game. For this image, I tucked a little surprise near baby brother, encouraging his big sister to lean in and look closely. The result is a beautifully natural moment that feels connected, timeless and entirely her.
