Made some yummy country ribs on the grill. Here’s the recipe taken from “Grilling ~ Where There’s Smoke There’s Flavor” by Eric Treuille & Birgit Erath. This is the Spiced Hoisin Ribs recipe found on pg. 48 and a favorite around our house in the summer. I also made some chili rubbed corn on the cob, which is seen behind the ribs in the picture and some baked potatoes not pictured. If you give the recipe a whirl, let me know what you think!
Ingredients:
4 lb pork spareribs or country style ribs
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1/2 tsp chinese five-spice
4 crushed garlic cloves
2 Tbsp grated fresh ginger root
2 Tbsp medium dry sherry
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp hot chinese sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions:
Separate ribs by slicing between the bone with a sharp knife. (I like country ribs because they’re boneless!!!!) Simmer ribs in large pan of salted water until just tender, about 30 minutes. Drain. Rinse under cold running water and drain again. Combine all other ingredients and brush mixture over the ribs. Grill over medium-hot coals, turning frequently and basting until brown and crusty, 15 min. ENJOY!
