Motherhood Photography St. Louis

Motherhood photography is one of my favorite types of portrait sessions that I do. I love showing the relationships between a mother and her children. I recently went to St. Louis for Fall portraits and this was the first session of the trip. It was a cold morning, so in this image, mom is keeping the kiddos warm and I believe they were keeping mom warm too. There really is nothing that warms the heart more than your children embracing you and showing their love!

Love the outfit selection mom did for her family. She always does such a great job with their wardrobe. They coordinate so well and are fitting for the season! Great example of how to mix patterns and coordinate colors.

Cannot wait to share more from this session. The Fall colors were super vibrant when I was back in St. Louis. Perfect backdrop for portraits. For the motherhood photography portrait shown here, we took cover under the Muny’s walkway to shield us from the breeze and to get some architectural elements in the final images.

Sibling images are such an important part of a newborn session. They preserve the very beginning of a lifelong relationship—the wonder, curiosity and tenderness of welcoming a new baby into the family.

Toddlers do not always understand posing, so sometimes we turn it into a game. For this image, I tucked a little surprise near baby brother, encouraging his big sister to lean in and look closely. The result is a beautifully natural moment that feels connected, timeless and entirely her.
