Extended Family Photography At Lake Oconee

This family traveled from different part of the United States for a family vacation at Lake Oconee and I was fortunate enough to be able to do their extended family photography session while they were in town.

They chose a morning session so that a they could get some pretty lighting for their portraits and then enjoy the rest of their day together without having to stop the festivities to get ready for their photos. Smart choice when on vacation – especially with this many kiddos!

Love the bonds that the grandkids have with their grandparents. So much love and fun to go around! The cousins were super sweet with each other and you can really tell that they enjoy each other’s company.

I love extended family photography sessions. They are so meaningful. I know it is hard to get everyone together, which is why doing a session during those rare times is such a greta idea! What do you do when you want your furry family member in at least one family picture, but the location does not allow pets? You follow the rules and take portraits in the park and then at the end, you get a few images in the parking lot. The light was gorgeous coming through the trees here and their pup seemed to be so happy to be included!

Now, there are a lot of locations that allow pets, but if your heart is set on a place where they are not permitted, we can always find an option either at the beginning or the end of the session where we can document your important family member too!

Mom always does such a great job dressing her family and last night was no exception. One little sentimental touch - little brother is wearing the same sweater his big brother wore at their last photo session. Love how he fits into now and how it all comes full circle!

Fall in Athens can be absolutely magical!

These sweet sisters had the prettiest November portrait session at Founder`s Garden on UGA`s campus. The vibrant fall foliage was the perfect backdrop, while their soft pinks, delicate florals and cozy layers complemented the scenery beautifully.

Late October and early November are some of my favorite times for fall family photos in Athens, GA. Gorgeous colors, comfortable temperatures and beautiful memories to treasure for years to come.
