Clayton Fall Family Portraits

Over the weekend I traveled to St. Louis for Fall family portraits. This was the first family I photographed when I got into town and it set a great tone for the rest of the sessions. Sun was out and providing beautiful glow through the trees and everyone was in such great spirits. Such a fun portrait session!!!!

I absolutely adore this family. I have been photographing them since their eldest son was still in the beautiful mom’s belly during their maternity photography session. It is so neat to watch them grow through the years. Love the personalities of the boys. I cannot get over how much these brothers have changed over the past year. They are super sweet together. Lots of hugs and affection for each other and their parents. Their parents make everyday things so much fun for their boys. Life is an adventure and their journey is such a sweet one! They are very fortunate to have each other.

Mom always does a great job with wardrobe selection for their family portraits. Look how well they coordinate to each other and their surroundings. Pure perfection! Great example of what to wear for fall family portraits outdoors.

You would never know how hot it was from looking at this image. It was unseasonably warm and humid for the beginning of October in St. Louis. I believe it was 91 degrees, but felt even hotter with the sticky humidity. This family really did a great job being dressed for crisp Fall weather when it was feeling more like Summer. They went with the flow and had great energy while I moved quickly so that they could peel off their layers and get into air conditioning as soon as possible. Such troopers!

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.

I know we have all heard about the winter storm that is heading our way this weekend. Instead of thinking of ice, I am choosing to think about the warm beach!
