Mother & Son Spring Apple Tree Blossoms Portrait | Oconee County, GA

What a dream last night’s portrait session was surrounded by apple tree blossoms with a sweet, sweet family! The weather was absolutely perfect and Mother Nature really did a great job gifting us with these fresh blooms that are just a mere two days old. The Spring grass was a beautiful lush green and there were even tiny purple flowers (weeds) mixed in as a special treat! Perfect setting for this family who’s son just turned one last month!

This family came from the Atlanta area for their Spring portraits and I think they will agree that the drive was well worth it! I loved documenting their little boy and the relationships between parents and their son. It is apparent that they are deeply in love with each other and that they have a lot of fun as a family unit. Lots of laughs along with cuddles. Such a joy and honor to photograph this special time in their lives.

I chose this tender image of mother and son for the sneak peek as I think it really shows the love and adoration of a mother towards her baby. Such purity and beauty in this image.

Mom did a great job choosing outfits for their family’s portraits. I love how well the colors compliment the setting, shows their personal style, while keeping the focus on the individuals in the images. Nothing distracting, which is exactly what you want for family portraits. I also love the details in mom’s shirt, which gives it some interest. Mom brought a couple of tops for her son and we decided on the one he is wearing here as it coordinated well with some of the other flowering trees in the field. (mix of pink and white flowering trees) Dad wore tan pants and a fitted blue button down shirt with a subtle pattern. Very timeless choices. Their finished artwork will stand the test of time and something they can be proud of for years to come.

These apple blossoms are brand new, so they will last for at least a couple of weeks. This is my sweet baby girl. She is obviously not a baby anymore, but rather a beautiful young lady, but she will ALWAYS be MY baby. I am sure all parents can relate.

Lily is why I do what I do. Before I got pregnant, I was a video producer with some crazy hours. When I found out I was expecting, my husband and I looked into childcare options, but weren`t having much luck finding what we needed. My heart was telling me to be with my daughter. I didn`t want to miss out on anything. My plan was to freelance, but the hours honestly weren`t much different, so I decided to stay home with my baby girl.

I had always done photography on the side. Early on, I did photo journalism, but then switched over to doing it as a hobby once I started my career in video. I worked for a photographer for a short time in college who had her studio in her home and always thought that would be perfect for when I had my own family. So, that is exactly what I set my mind to once I made the decision to quit the video world. As a mom, it would allow me to set my own goals, hours and run things the way I wanted.

Owning my own business has been such a blessing! I get to be there for my daughter and family while feeding into my passion for photography. It gives me such freedom and makes my heart sing with every session I do. Love documenting important moments for my clients throughout their journey of life. Such an honor and something that I don`t take lightly.

Thank you Lily for leading me down this path and allowing me to do what I am truly passionate about. Getting pregnant with you was the push I needed to make my dreams a reality.

You know when people say that if you do what you love, you never work a day in your life? I can attest that is very true. It is what I hope for my daughter and all of you!
