The weather was perfect for this mom’s maternity photos last night. Love how the light is coming through the trees and casting a glow on all the foliage that is so lush right now! Spring is amazing!!!! This particular location worked perfectly at the time of evening we needed to start the session. It is in the woods right behind my house and I find it to be magical a few hours before sunset and in the early mornings.

I love the dress this beautiful lady picked out for her maternity photos. It is a dress she wore to a wedding recently and it worked just perfectly for this setting and time of year. Love the detailing of the ruffles and the neckline. The flowered pattern is very feminine and compliments Mother Nature and the pregnant figure. Wait until you see what her husband and son wore! Perfection!

This glowing mom holds a very dear place in my heart. She is the first client I photographed when I moved to Georgia. Ironically, that was for a maternity session too. Such an honor to photograph her again while she is expecting her second baby boy. I could not be happier for her and her family. Boy, will they have fun too! Love how cuddly and sweet their first son is with mom and how playful he is with dad. The soon to be big brother is super excited to meet his baby brother and loves talking to him already. I know that they will become fast friends and will have a blast playing together and going through the journey of life together. Congrats G family!!!!

I have always been inspired by nature and it will always be something I love to photograph. I think it shows in my work with my portrait sessions too. I love finding locations that have elements of nature I adore. Magical lighting. layers of foliage, pretty flowers, pathways, tunnels of trees, boulders, various water elements and all the little details in between.

As things are warming up, nature is coming alive. You can see hints of it with grass greening up, tiny buds on trees and certain flowers showing off their beauty already. That also means that cherry blossoms will be flowering in the near future too!

I`ll be keeping an eye on things and when I have a better prediction of when they will be in bloom, I`ll make an announcement. Stay tuned.

Being in the south, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE snow.

This picture was taken in a blizzard down the street from where I lived in St. Louis. Can you believe this was in March, right before Easter?! This is NOT a black and white picture. It just looks like it due to the snow conditions. We already had leaves on the trees, which made the snow coverage that much more magical too.

Now, I do not miss the dirty, slushy mess that comes after a snow like this, but I do miss sledding, making forts and snowmen, and having snowball fights.

Hope everyone fares well with the winter storm this weekend.
